I have no problem with the rules being relaxed/changed - and "letting it rip" - but I do have a problem with the government not ensuring the public requirements would be in place for said rule changes before changing them.

ie, all well and good to say "get a RAT" - if only one could get a rat ... all well and good to say "get your booster" if the appointment wait wasn't 3+ weeks and even then uncertainty as to whether you'll actually get in ... all well and good to say "vaccinate you kids before going back to school" but have you seen the appointment wait times to get the kids jabbed?

As usual, and as is right and proper, this thread has gone drifting to other matters.

To add to the drift, while it may be fine for those up the line to declare there are no shortages for boosters, etc, there is a problem if those supplies are at a warehouse and not at those locations which administer vaccinations.

No point in GPs, pharmacists, etc accepting appointments if they are uncertain they will have supplies come the appointment time. And that is over an above the issues @Lizzie has referred to.

We were similar - double AZ - just some cold shivers the day after the jabs.

It looks like tomorrow for the booster is on again for us, not sure if it will be Moderna (booked) or Pfizer. We will take what we are given.

Apparently the chemist is way down on staff (4 out of 6 staff off) plus the vaccines ordered last month hadn't arrived. The vaccines arrived today just before lunch and they have rostered someone on to get the jab.

Gotta stay agile and flexible as per the last 2 years ;).

Scomo certainly doesn't. This week he is confused about whether he personally purchased a RAT @ Terrigal or whether it's Jen who handles that sort of thing.

It was humorous when I attended for the booster. The link to Medicare was down. Pharmacist was wondering how to verify the doses I had had previously. Showed the certificate I had uploaded to Google Drive. OK, good. Thanks.

Are you sure your Medicare number is correct? Showed the scan of Medicare card in Google Drive. Oh, I see. Ta.

If you are on medications do you know what they are? Showed the scan of the prescription I had uploaded to Google Drive. Hmm, I like that method.

Loved working from home but I think that’s over for good now. Kids have been able to attend day care the whole time but that’s probably over too, only a matter of time until we’re plunged into iso.

So has been good but things are almost certainly about to change.

There's a reason why 'H' comes before 'W' in the alphabet.

If people put as much efforts into getting wealthy. They should apply the same principle for health.
I will put health above my wealth - every time of the year.

Having seen people in the nursing homes, I have some experience what the oldies there told me.
They would trade all their wealth away to be healthy again.
Their stories and life experience have stuck with me till today.
You can learn the mistakes yourself or through someone's else life experience.

That's why I don't work myself to death. I know when enough is enough. More wealth won't increase our lifestyle we find meaning in. My motto since 2019 has been to work as little as possible. On average I spend about 5-10 hours a week on work. The rest is play.

    Couldn't be happier.
