l remember back at the start 6mths ago they asked our chief scientist what he thought the outcome of all this would be.
He said there might never be a vac but if not like aids and so many other things we will get better at treating it and also discover some of our drugs that will subside it quite a bit too so l don't think it will be anywhere near as deadly as it can be right now. He also said it could well disappear anyway in a yr or two like others have or have at least basically faded to a large degree.

According to the NYT, the numbers continue to track upwards again albeit from a still low base, up 14% to 41k new cases (14 Day avg).

I saw a chart yesterday, but can't find it again, that had the combination of covid and flu as the number 3 cause of death globally in 2020, behind heart disease and stroke.

Heat disease and stroke are 1 and 2 because you "gotta die of something" and it's usually the circulatory system failing as you get older

Heat disease can be a real killer, especially in a hot country like Australia.

Heart problems must be up there too ;-)

The highest killers in the western world has a huge amount to do with our diet - processed - saturated - sugared - refined - such as cardiovascular disease such as heart, stroke etc, diabetes and many cancers ... however ... they aren't contagious

Politics is a s.fight here everyone blames each other, Madrid is far right, government far left and autonomous communities across the spectrum. The multiple governments did some good things and some bad things, depends on whose opinion you read.

Shame really people sacrificed so much in the lockdown, more than most countries, yet have a crappy outcome now. Had to do it at the start since so many deaths and overflowing hospitals, but what´s the value of future lockdowns if the virus just bounces back again a month or two after it´s crushed, and that the real death rate now is so low. Won´t see another lockdown like the first happening, simply not worth it. Virus is here to stay, have to live with it and that's that.

l think masks are a massive help but sadly it does seem a mostly very similar all over the world bouncing back left and right . Even Sweden went down awhile back but now they're sweeping back up to where they were too.
Lotta talk all over the world about winter coming now too it could get a lot worse yet l hate to think. Thank God for us though that'll be summer which might just help keep us on the right track.

all still fine here. We always wear masks anyway as its normal. For colds and flu we wear them to protect others, for pollution and now for Covid. I think not just China but Korea as well it's just normal to mask up out of respect to others if you are coughing and sneezing and generally ugh. At work we scan in with green health code. Same at the hospital where I was yesterday for annual company medicals. Generally we are relaxed but take some moderate precautions like no morning dance at school and wear a mask if you to in the supermarket.

The numbers in the US keep growing, Now over 54K new cases and up by a staggering 22% on the 14 day average.

Even If the testing numbers are decreasing, the hit rate must be escalating rapidly.

    I'll blame autocorrect.

I think it was meant to be "but not Australia", but I left out a space.
