No disagreement here. As I said I think a lot of these people on either ends of the extremes are just nut jobs.

Agree with that. Unfortunately, those few nut jobs are a worry. One individual being reckless (attend as many packed venues as possible/ to be a part of many big parties!) can easily spread the virus to many, and very quickly.

New story in the Age: "More than 65 per cent of those who broke the rules during Victoria's first wave of coronavirus already had criminal records". No wonder that trusting people to do the right thing hasn't worked.

Surely the last place anyone living in NSW would want to go is QLD?

So, having border closed is really a non-issue :D.

I know no-one from QLD wants to go NSW :p.

    Lol

Anyway, planning to go to SA next month, cause the border has opened!

Would've happily gone to NT or Qld in winter to get some warmer sun, but it was too hard/not exactly easy. So the money stayed here.

Gotta say, WFH in Winter.... I really like it!!

    Currently up at Airlie Beach.

The weather is absolutely fantastic. The wife is causing the local economy to recover all by herself :D.

Today's Victorian numbers: 14 new cases and sadly 8 lives lost.

my ever dwindling respect for journalists has decreased even further,
does anyone watch the questions asked to dan andrews by the reporters at the daily press conferences?

every single day its rude, interruptive, asks the same question over and over again, antagonising and accusatory tone

im surprised no one punches them quiet

have they recently changed the requirements to become a journalist is to be an antimasker Karen?

"It's tough, but we're doing a great job" doesn't make as good of a headline as "Oh, how the people are suffering"

dan andrews could get through the ENTIRE Q&A session with these 3 replies
" You've already asked me that question"
"It would be inappropriate of me to comment about that"
"I dont read social media posts, I have better things to do"

You ain't wrong , l suppose that's what you get being a journo - achieving nothing yourself doing nothing yourself just talking about what other people do, how smart would you have to be.
l'm surprised he puts himself through it everyday he could easily get someone else to report every second or 3rd day , all the other prems do it.

    Absolutely! :)

We just got the go ahead from DHHS to begin preparations to ramp up our elective surgery capacity back to 75%. As of mid next week we'll start to gradually bring back all our furloughed staff. And for the first time in quite a while we have 0 COVID patients in ICU, with our last patient discharged overnight.

Everything will be done in step with government guidelines and the easing of restrictions across the state.

Things are looking much brighter for our State. So proud of what we've all achieved! :)

They do themselves no favours: pity they're not rationed to two or three questions each. It might concentrate the mind a little.

From watching and listening to some, that would be two or three questions too many.

I dropped in to watch Dan Andrews in the COVID-19 enquiry...he's doing a decent job I think and the woman asking the questions, Rachel Ellyard, is very good also.

Thrown under the bus by Andrews and his testimony yesterday. "The buck stops with her".
