    Hi All,

Wondering if anyone can give me a ballpark cost to expect to sand and polish my floorboards.
I would estimate the total size to be around 80m2.

    Thanks in advance!

Less than $1000 if you do it yourself.

I don't think its worth the effort doing it yourself.
Too dusty, hiring the machine, don't know how to control the machine properly, etc.

Cost me $1700 to do 4 bedrooms and hallway.
    3.5x3x5 (x2) + 3.5x3(x2) + 1.1x8
    So around 42 sqm.

$50 per sqm is about average.

1.8-2.2k depending on the floorplan is fairly usual for properties that I've got it done.

Side note - personally love floorboards in rental properties, nice hard wearing option which can battle against the most average of tenants.

I got mine in Brisbane done for $30 per sqm. Some people will do it cheaper than this though.

    Yep. Results were good.
    Look up this website:

Of course, cheaper is possible, if you want to shop around more. But I am happy with the results. :) Just be aware you won't want to step foot into the house for a few days after the top coats are put on... it truly smells something fierce for a few days!

Cost me less than $300 to do hallways, kitchen and dining in my IP. About 40sqm.

DIY. It is a bit of work but money saved is well worth it for me.

    Hey All,
    Thanks for the response.
I would prefer to hire someone to do this for me and am comfortable with paying the extra $1500.
Cheaper than i thought to be honest! My budget had 3k and given our house is quite small it may only cost $1500.

Old post, @albanga what did it end up costing per square meter?
Just had a quote for a room size roughly 8x8, 61sq to be exact for $2600. Just over $40sq metre.

    Maybe it's just because it's early but I thought 40 x 200 = 8000 :)

@Barny sorry mate but can't remember what it ended up costing. I got a referral from a mate so he did a good price but I ended up going a few coats as wanted a darker polish.
