Airfares on routes with competition will drop.

Airfares on routes with no competition will rise dramatically.

And travel and life insurance premiums, in certain age groups, for those who want to get on planes (and, god forbid, cruise ships), irrespective of where they are going will probably increase.

Possibly by more than the routes with competition discounts will offer.

On the other hand, who knows?

You can bet anyone that can gouge will be , in anything and everything true to form , good will doesn't extend to money matters in good ol oz,
Hate to think what airfares will be . Don't fly much myself but my gf flies Sydney / Melb a lot . 3mths ago we'd get 45$ one way trips.
Still , atm if they aren't taking as many per flight to keep the distancing then paying more is fair enough but the flow on later would be the thing . Anyone tends to ride this stuff all the way to the bank well after the fact for as long as they can get away with it typically,.

I think people will be very cautious in regard to international travel. Many regions across the globe are seeing fairly substantial increases in case numbers of the virus. This does not play out well for the tourism industry as a whole. We may see a spike in domestic travel as a consequence.;)

A colleague had to get her daughter from Brisbane (came home for lock-down period) back to Melbourne (for school). Only 2 flights per day to choose from, and the cheapest ticket she could get, even booking many days in advance, was $500 one-way. That's crazy!

God yeah anything international is anyones guess right now as much with other countries too as for us. l wouldn't be surprised if some intro a 14 day isolation thing for who knows how long , maybe 6 or 12 mths yet , when they do start opening international again.Maybe a few years if there's new outbreaks.
