Agreed - but apparently sharing a meeting room with someone who is infected, and then coming down with flu like symptoms a week later is not considered a reason for testing.

As usual - informative and interesting video by Dr John Campbell, where he starts out with data and research into the mobility and spread ability of the virus. Basically can catch it from 4+ metres from an infected person, remains circulating in aircon and enclosed conditions for over 30 minutes, can last 2+ days on hard surfaces and 5+ days in excreted bodily fluids ... yummo

Asides from the first snippet about the transmission - he goes thru the stats and reaches Italy, which is a little scary. Around the 17:30 mark he is quoting emails received from medical staff stating that Milan hospitals are full - there are no spare respirators in the country (over 3,000 in use) and that decisions are now having to be made on who to treat and who to sacrifice

Wow. A big step leading into Easter. It will wreck the plans of a lot of people on low budgets. But Jerusalem during Easter will otherwise be an extremely dangerous place for a disease, with a crush of humanity from all over the globe.

I think if the spread of Corona continues this way, many more countries will impose very strong measures. Will be interesting to see in 12 months where everything stands.

The surrounding countries have absolutely been massively affected, they are just 1-2 weeks behind Italy. France, Spain and Germany now are in positions 5,6,7 for number of cases (Italy number 2). Also Switzerland has a high per capita rate. Spain and France 5th and 6th in number of deaths, also mostly elderly.

I am worried but if the fatalities were predominantly in the 1-50 range, I'd be panicking. Such is self interest.

Spain has started closing schools in certain areas, not Barcelona though. Events over 1000 people cancelled, though big Barca game next to my place Saturday night wasn't. Next games closed door with no spectators. My sport Castellers has been indefinitely suspended (very close contact activity). I expect much more stringent measures soon including closures, lockdowns as we zoom past 2000 cases today. The first case was 15 days ago.

I still haven't seen anyone wearing a mask though... gym is open, no runs on supermarkets though some people stockpiling, plenty of toilet paper and foods. The only thing hard to find is hand sanitizer.

My right leg is a little sore. Could be something there. I’m off for testing.

COVID19 can survive in dead bodies for days. Dublin City Medical Examiner's Office has issued a memo to the Irish Association of Funeral Undertakers (IAFD) on how to deal with coronavirus death victims. The safest thing to do is a fast cremation.

President of the German Robert Koch Insitute calls COVID19 a PANDEMIC VIRUS, which will infect 60 to 70 percent of a population in any country.
