And Trump thinks you can use antibiotics to treat viruses. But this one is super smart and invisible so that's not working.

Zinc plus hydroxychloroquine worked on patient A. Y-man pointed out a trial where zinc treatment alone is being trialled. So was it the zinc alone, the hydroxychloroquine, or the combination which worked? Was this a one off or could this be replicated? Does the dosage matter? Are there side effects or damaging consequences? Could there have been something else at play, or even a placebo effect?

One successful case is enough to initiate further trials. It's not enough to say that it's a cure.

It's only by trials that we can have confidence in the treatment.

This is a positive start to a trial - albeit limited with only 53 people in the initial stage:

"The report published in the New England Journal of Medicine tracked 53 people in the U.S., Europe and Canada who needed respiratory support, with about half receiving mechanical ventilation and four on a heart-lung by-pass machine. Eight additional patients were left out of the analysis: one due to a dosing error and seven because no information was available on how they fared.

All received remdesivir for up to 10 days on a compassionate use basis, a program that allows people to use unapproved medicines when no other treatment options are available. Over 18 days, 68% of the patients improved, with 17 of the 30 patients on mechanical ventilation being able to get off the breathing device. Almost half of the patients studied were ultimately discharged, while 13% died. Mortality was highest among those who were on a ventilator, with 18% of them dying."

The top 2 virologist's on this planet .........

Dr Didier Raoult & Dr Wolfgand Wodarg .......... read what they have to say.

Don't worry what BS media says.
Don't worry about what BS politicians say....

    Make up your mind.

Dr Wolfgand Wodarg noted that the engineered panic was totally useless, since this virus isn’t any different than the others that affect us every years.

Point I was trying to make is that this is a virus.. antibacterial handwashes won’t work.
No need to make anything.. soap and water will suffice.

Soap and water are best, but alcohol based hand sanitiser with 60%-90% alcohol will also kill viruses if used correctly. I don't usually have soap and water when I'm in the car after going to the supermarket for instance.

If we were being very pedantic - you can't technically "kill" a virus as it is not really a living creature (it's missing some very important bits and pieces).

    Ok, thanks for the clarification.

To be clear, an antibacterial handwash which isn't alcohol based or which has the wrong concentration of alcohol is, as @Shazz@ says, ineffective against viruses.

And handwashing must be done properly to be effective. Hands washed front, back, between fingers, at least 20 seconds. Rinsed, dried using a sterile technique, tap turned without touching if possible.

It freaks me out that Gilead is involved in the pandemic response.

I can see why - looking at the Criticism section of this article
    Gilead Sciences - Wikipedia

They have the patent on remdesivir and have used "orphan status" to maintain this, something which is controversial.

However, I think much of Big Pharma is the same.

Almost all drinking spirits don't have sufficient alcohol content.

Apparently, 100% alcohol isn't effective either (methylated spirits or isopropyl alcohol).

Though I'm not sure about the efficacy of a seance.

I’d rather drink it and wake up when this whole fiasco is over
