The Lancet has now retracted this study due to several authors saying independent reviewers were not able to verify information that's been widely questioned by other scientists.

    Statement from The Lancet

Today, three of the authors of the paper, "Hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine with or without a macrolide for treatment of COVID-19: a multinational registry analysis", have retracted their study. They were unable to complete an independent audit of the data underpinning their analysis. As a result, they have concluded that they "can no longer vouch for the veracity of the primary data sources." The Lancet takes issues of scientific integrity extremely seriously, and there are many outstanding questions about Surgisphere and the data that were allegedly included in this study. Following guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), institutional reviews of Surgisphere’s research collaborations are urgently needed.

The retraction notice is published today, June 4, 2020. The article will be updated to reflect this retraction shortly.

Seems to be dozens of vacs very close , going on all over the world but 2 here in Australian alone that they're taking very seriously now. The US one they're working on here too plus yet another QLD thing now too and that's backed by the CSL.
Just from what l've caught on different reports out of those dozens there's 6 or 7 being trialed on humans right now in different countries.Surely at that rate it wouldn't be too far off you would think.

Just stumbled onto that show 4corners , man haven't seen that in yrs , dad use to watch it.
lt was on a vaccine , China's trialing another one right now, so is the UK , they're on about their 3rd ,
Silly thing was the whole show all they did was basically rant on about who is gonna produce the vax, Ahh, the world hasn't even got a vax yet , there might never be one , yet they waste 90% of the show worrying about who's gonna produce it. Talk about cart before the horse. Guarantee you right now if someone somewhere shouts out one day we have the vax , there'll be no shortage of mega companies lining up to make the damn vax. The biggest drug company in the world made 16billion last yr , imagine what they'd make on a Covid vaccine.

That's really encouraging. I hope that it does really work.

However, the recent history of research into coronavirus drugs suggests that perhaps one should wait for peer reviews and further research before being too optimistic.

Is the government monitoring this site? ... 2 months later they're trialling the TB vaccine

Sad to hear a top Australian biologist still not mentioning vit D as beneficial amongst those with darker skin in UK, USA... rather pushing low social status

Well ... they are going to need it. The daily infection rate in Texas alone is higher than Italy at the height of their outbreak

It’s a US company so makes sense.
I would hope CSL make sure we have enough of something before they ship to other markets (up to the government to buy of course).

I see it as much more political than practical. Without waiting to see how effective it really is, and how much would be needed, by buying up everything they are trying to show their voters that they really are doing something to fight Covid-19. Like a toilet paper panic buy really. But perhaps they need it because they have screwed up their handling of the virus so completely.

A move like that may change the politics of drug treatments and vaccines completely. Countries may now see no obstacle to cornering the market in any treatment or PPE. A drug cold war perhaps.
