Presumably the best game play for a virus would be to be very infectious, not cause too many symptoms and definitely not kill its host. Which might be what we're seeing: the death rate seems to be way lower than a few months back - though that might be down to doctors have a much better handle on the appropriate treatment.

You could just as easily turn this around the other way. I.e. the fines are an indication that people don't trust the government.

Trust can mean all sorts of things. Are we talking about small things or major conspiracies?

I don't trust that the government has done the right thing, because the fines are insignificant compared to the hazard they are meant to protect us from. But does that mean I will deliberately ignore government advice to do the right thing?

This is not about trust it's about self entitled Karens and Darrens doing the wrong thing.

Today I did a care visit to my parents. Clear as day 80kph speed limits on the Monash and only 20% of drive at the limt. People are selfish self entitled know it alls who think that they can ignore the rules.

I hope the fines are not being used for those that "do the right thing" but rather those who are sick. Don't you agree?

Great discussion people. Good to get lots of different opinions out there. It's the only way to benefit from other people's thoughts.
