Maybe if a few more million people downloaded the app it would be more effective. That's the cost of having a free society I guess.

I think the 15 minutes in close contact is just too long. And it did say there were no cases found "just" via the app. So it must have worked for some contacts.

I call on coles and woolies to make delivery free....! (but then I guess they can jack up prices by the fee amount)

    Yes, I agree

I think its also a matter of trust, the longer this goes on the harder it will be for people to trust the government and how they are handling this??

    could end up in anarchy????

Vaccines will not end Covid 19.
Just look at influenza - had a vaccine for nearly a 100 years and still hundreds and hundreds of thousands die every single year. Although the vaccine does help, approx 30- 50% effective they say.

We can't trust "other people". I'd put my trust in the government before I'd trust those lining up to get into a nightclub. What part of social distancing is hard to understand?

Absolutely, the government needs to provide better reasoning if they want people to trust them. These arbitrary measures only increases people's mistrust.
Invoking what is essentially a police state only adds fuel to the fire. Rules and regulations are not useful if people cannot see the reasoning behind.
I think Australia did well at the start but the top down control approach in Victoria appears counter productive.

Melb put their trust in their Premier but he failed miserably? His not a god he made mistakes

Social distancing etc is very simple to do same as wearing masks, same as lockdown. However here we are today

I also wonder how policing a State is going to work??? Just watching it unravel at the moment

He's human and he can not control what "the people" do, especially when there are people simply not listening to the advice.

And social distancing is only going to work if people... socially distance.

I also wonder how we tell people that they will be fine if they dont have a job, They still need to pay bills

Imagine how some people will be struggling during this time mentally, and not seeing an end in sight

We keep hearing the same mantra....... about the selfish not wearing masks etc.... etc..... but the reality is its a virus, we have little control in eradicating this

Yes but he is the leader, the buck stops with him. What happened ie hotel security guards was preventable if it was managed appropriately

But you are missing the point.... social distancing is needed but we dont have a vaccine

Its contagious, people who dont even know they have it can infect others... social distancing probably wont help

Agree. The Premier cannot control the people. However, it appears that is what he is trying to do with the measures introduced.
The government does not trust the people hence tries to control them. As a result people mistrust the government.
    Quite logical really.

I was disappointed in one of his recent media reports where he made a point of blaming the people.

Policing will never work, we live in Australia we dont want this

I didn't miss the point. Social distancing will help, and masks will help even more, especially if we all wear them.

Right now in Brisbane that's not necessary, but I'm thinking it soon will be due to the actions of a few people.

No premier can stand beside every hotel guard. Shouldn't it be blamed on the people doing the wrong thing?

How do you think you can achieve 0 cases and control a virus unless you think we can stay in a house 24/7....?? Never leave

Who's aiming for zero cases? That's unachievable.

But to lock Victoria down until they can achieve traceable numbers daily is better than letting it run rampant like other countries where it is totally hopeless and tracing is not possible. My opinion.

Ruby Princess - mismanaged by Australian Boarder Force and NSW Government, Did the buck stop with them or Gladys?
I'm not defending anyone I'm just calling it for what it is.

Buck stops with Scomo in my opinion.... especially the economic damage. The states are all working off his modelling as far as I was aware??

It doesn't really matter whether the app is good or bad or indifferent - PEOPLE are responsible for the way this is spreading again. They are ignoring the endless appeals to stay at home more and wear a mask when they leave the house.... we can all focus on trying to hang various politicians out to dry for the 2nd wave or we can turn our attention where it needs to be turned - personal accountability by individuals. If people behaved as they should, this would be far less of a problem than it is becoming. It's pretty simple.
