    No, they aren’t.

My prediction is that my wine cellar will be a lot more empty in 12 months time.

Not sure whether it is due to celebrations as CV wasn’t as bad as predicted OR commiserations as CV was worse then predicted.

Either way, the outcome is the same.

    Cheers.

Lol, guessing you already stocked up. I heard a rumour that alcohol kills cv so drink up.

    Which is hoarding ....

Say you bought 1 pack each ... that's anywhere between 12 (6 pack) and 24 (12 pack) rolls ... yet you say your going away in a few days so won't be using them - unless Tassie is now BYO - so @ 2 rolls a week or 6-12 weeks of toilet paper 'after' you return.

By separating to purchase, you deliberately bought more than required or what is a standard purchase ... hence hoarding o_O

I try that every year with the head colds ... sadly doesn't work but, at least, the hangover makes you forget the cold

    Doesn't stop me trying :)

Could you imagine a virus... where it literally changes your physical appearance to one that resembles a modern day zombie....

Lol I wouldn't be collecting toilet paper but rather stock up on ammo.

Probably need a clause in my rental contracts, "successful application is subject to zombie-x9 testing at applicant's cost"

One large factor is that toilet paper is sold in large multipacks so that even a single extra purchase removes a larger proportion of stock from the shelf vs removing an extra can of beans or bag of pasta.

So visually the shelf empties quicker which causes shoppers to panic as they think the shelf quantity is the only stock on hand.

Then news reports of shortages means some wont just take 1 extra pack they will take a 2nd extra pack which empties the shelves faster causing more panic.

When I purchased the shelve was not even fully stocked, not sure why??

To make it more annoying my daughter has allergies and can only use Hypo allergic toilet paper, which fortunately they had

Actually hypoallergenic toilet paper, which is the opposite of hypo allergic. I wondered what you meant, I had to look it up.

    Ok so back to predictions.

So far they range from 6 to 12 months to be under control to worldwide pandemic with millions dying and 200k Aussies hitting the sack permanently.

Any other predictions re the virus?

Then you are very lucky to have @geoffw shadowing you to correct your mistakes.

I hope that you appreciate this.

Fair go. If I was shadowing anybody to correct their mistakes I'd have a full time job. As would anybody shadowing me.

In this case, I was confused by the term used, and had to check what it was. I commented just in case anybody else was confused.

I can’t see how shadowing anybody to correct their mistakes would be a full time job, unless you went into microscopic detail.

We all make mistakes posting here but you very few get consistently corrected.

What you're referring to is the GSH index which ranks counties readiness for a global pandemic .

    Produced last year

    The Global Health Security Index

    1 United States 83.5
    Northern America 100m+ High income
    2 United Kingdom 77.9
    Europe 50-100m High income
    3 Netherlands 75.6
    Europe 10-50m High income
    4 Australia 75.5
    Oceania 10-50m High income
    5 Canada 75.3
    Northern America 10-50m High income
    6 Thailand 73.2
Southeastern Asia 50-100m Upper middle income
    7 Sweden 72.1
    Europe 1-10m High income
    8 Denmark 70.4
    Europe 1-10m High income
    9 South Korea 70.2
    Eastern Asia 50-100m High income
    10 Finland 68.7
    Europe 1-10m High income
    11 France 68.2
    Europe 50-100m High income
    12 Slovenia 67.2
    Europe 1-10m High income
    13 Switzerland 67.0
    Europe 1-10m High income
    14 Germany 66.0
    Europe 50-100m High income
    15 Spain 65.9

US does rank number one and we're number 4 .

If you look at those countries in the top 15 most have established local transmission and a rapidly rising case load .

US is probably going OK per Capita .

In terms of managing the outbreak at the moment . No they're not number one .

Scary thing re the latest Princess is they had 21 positive results but only tested 46 people .

We're not perfect . There has been different advice to the Medical profession from state and Federal governments .

When staff didn't turn up at the affected northern Suburbs ( NOT NORTH SHORE, Please ,we don't have it here yet ...) nursing home , the state asked for federal assistance , Instead of an instant YES, this will be address ASAP ( which should have happened ) the Federal minister started talking about going though channels etc to see if they could help .

Now we have the Victorian Health Minister , Jenny Mikokos , throwing a GP under the bus , when they were following all of the governments guidelines .

Not as bad as in America , but not perfect

The idiots who are saying US is the number one to manage CV are dreaming I would put Singapore and China up there.

If the bloody communist party would have listened to the doctor in Wuhan it would have been contained. Watch what happens in the US in the coming weeks. We should be closing off flights to the US now!
