looking for justification of my decesion...
what colour should i paint this 90mm cornice....same as ceiling like traditionally done or same as wall colour?

Ive painted ceiling white and put a sealer blocker on the walls and cornice so its all white now. but i've also posted a photo below of what the original colour was.

It's just a 90x16 mdf as opposed to 90mm coved cornice and the kicker is that the door jams and window architraves all join up to it so from that aspect it would make sense to paint it the same as the skirting.

It may end up being a moot point as the ceiling are ceiling white and walls will be Lexicon with skirting gloss enamal lexicon

Personally I would do the horizontal batten in white and the vertical in wall colour

So bit the bullet and painted the 90x16 'cornice' the same colour as the walls....Lexicon low sheen. Ceiling is Dulux ceiling white...cant really tell the difference.

I tried to get all interior designer and thought that painting it the same colour as the walls would make the ceiling look higher. cant say it looks higher....but looks alot nicer then before.

    That was quick!

Did you use full strength Lexicon on the wall? I find full strength to be very cold as it has a black base but I love it in half or quarter strength for trim.

No mucking around here...wife and I knocked it over.
Yep full strength Lexicon...I thought it may be a bit much too but will reserve judgement until it dries in the morning. Half of the walls in the bedrooms are brick so thought it would work well.
It's been a big couple of days and a few more to go.
