    I love corner blocks but I'm a developer.
    For a standard non divisable block the only upsides are
    - only one neighbour
    - could have a workshop at the rear with it's own driveway off the other street
    - could put garage at the rear off the other street so you have a more attractive elevation/facade
    - more light and ventilation
