CoreLogic - where do they get their data from?

Hi Brains Trust.

Last month we found out that CoreLogic is no longer associated with realestate.com.au.
Hence the alerts we set-up become redundant.
Presumably they will be using official/government data, which can take months and months....
There is a mention of on-the-house but that website is a bit sad IMHO.

Just wondering how useful CoreLogic will be after this?

Corelogic are a company that have state govt contracts to give data to the states !! And in return they are given access to raw data. They share data, sell data and remodel it for govt departments (free of charge). Their data sets are used by the likes of domain, cordell, councils and many state agencies/departments and national agencies too. They sell to likes of REAs etc as well. They call these "datasets" and are tailored for need. They are like a private bureau of statistics. They sell data for 20+ years. The agencies get the benefit of free data sets which are tailored for specific needs. They employ many statisticians.

realestate.com.au used their data (often limited) not the other way about. RP data may have used reallestate.com.au data as a validation or link rather than as primary data.

You were using second hand data. Often filtered and heavily restricted and limited to what the site allowed. You can still use RPData directly (for a fee) and it remains the primary resource for many in property
