It really sounds like Darwin is the clear winner here. You love the lifestyle, wont be able to match it in Brisbane, have better career prospects and a higher income from the get go. Parents are important, but flights aren't so bad by comparison.

Captain Obvious says do what makes you happy. Feels like Darwin.

I'll move to Brissy when they have
    - Barra
    - 32 degree winters
    - no boat licences
    - no fishing licences
    - goose season
    - beach markets
    - runoff
    - national parks
    - relaxed lifestyle

Just something else to think about - North Korea missiles can reach Darwin (I believe) but not yet capable of going as far as BNE.

@Darwin55 - Mindal Beach Markets are awesome. I do miss them.

You could, move parents from Bris to Darwin instead.

Or, buy an IP in Bris today where you would like to end up, buying at todays prices, have all the claims/offsets, and move in a few more years ;)

If we don't end up going to Brissie that is EXACTLY what we'll be doing. :)
