Christina and Jarrod from Snedden Hall and Gallop seem to be pretty good. Not the cheapest but have lots of experience with new developments and off the plan deals (like recent GEOCON releases). They are based in Deakin but also have an office in Gungahlin.

One of the names mentioned above list $1,760, plus disbursements on their website. Another one I just contacted is $1,900 including disbursements. They seem quite high. I know price means little if something goes wrong, but for a fairly simple residential purchase, does it seem reasonable?

Another random law firm I found that listed their fees on their website was $990, plus disbursements. This was more around what I would normally expect, noting I have never purchased in the ACT.

what's the general fee structure for solicitors? I have seen some that charge a fee for every contract they review. Is that how it work generally? Or is it more like a flat fee structure?
