Just wondering in ideas on cheapest way to convert a room to a bathroom.

Aesthetics isnt an issue but the place needs to work.

    House is built on slab

toilet and vanity is simple and could have waste going out the walls.

The issue is with the shower. Thinking shower base + waterproofed acryclic walls + frame would be the cheapest option with least amount of trades required.

The drainage for the shower would be the issue. I would like to avoid cutting the slab. One thought could be to raise the floor around the shower? Build a frame and use fibre cement sheeting for the floor and drain it out through the wall out of the house and then into the ground (to the sewer). Would this be enough or would the whole room need to be raised and an additional drain to be installed for the room itself.

last issue would be flooring. Would vinyl be possible? Seen it toilets but never in bathrooms?

Any particular reason for not wanting to cut the slab? I am building a bathroom now and have just done the slab part. The amount of slab that was removed for the shower drain was not much.

Get a plumber out to quote- Though I would expect it to cost a lot if there isn't something in an adjacent room to chase
