Im looking at purchasing a 9 bedroom two storey house in Ipswich council area. it already has a kitchen on each storey, but not sure of the legality of this. It had a previous consent to convert to dual occupancy which was not fully executed and has since lapsed.

My question is, what would be required to convert this existing house to dual occupancy under current planning laws? My main concern is whether both stories would need to be fire rated. Any advice or directions to relevant legislation would be much appreciated.
