Contacts in Brisbane

G'day everyone,

I'm currently in the process of trying to set up some contacts up here in Brisbane with an accountant and solictor to be able to refer clients to should the need arise.

So any help with contacts up here would be great. I am already aware of Nick in Sydney and Dale in Melbourne re: accountants and Nigel re; solicitor, but would like to get some names for people up here. So fire away!

Also, if anyone knows a good financial planner up here, that'd be great too. Hahaha, just joking!

Can't help you with an accountant, but I have it on good authority that McKays Solicitors are very capable, in Brisbane (07) 3223 5999. Apparently their conveyancing specialist, Kathleen McGowan is excellent and she runs the Statewide Conveyancing Shop, which forms part of the company.

Yes I have actuallyl used them in the past and they have proven to be very efficient, knowledgable, timley and lateral thinkers.

I've used Porta Lawyers ((07) 3265 3888) not too long ago, for a transfer of a PPOR to a hybrid trust. I dealt with Leanne Bourrel for conveyancing issues (I think that's the correct spelling of her surname) and she was great - knew her stuff, friendly, responsive, great follow up. I was doing everything remotely from Hobart but had no hassles at all.

They were recommended to me by someone on the Somersoft forum who had also used them for their IP conveyancing.

I know Kathleen personally and would also highly recommend her. She actually does a lot of the conveyancing stuff for our clients here in Brisbane.
