Construction of a road

Hi guys,

I have block of land in the Blue Mountains and have spoken to the council about the unformed road that will service the land

They have said it is my responsibility for this and for the road to be built under certain regulations

Would anyone know or have any contacts in building a road to service the lots.

Ill say about 100 meters would be needed for the road. My lots are on the right hand side and the unformed road is in the middle.

 

You'll need a civil engineer to do the plans.

I'll track down a contact in Blacktown who moght be able to help.

 

First you probably want to find out if council will allow this. i wouldn't take someones word for it.
Are you from up the hill? They aren't an easy council to deal with.
If you want prices there are a few local guys up there. Shaw earthmoving might be still kicking around
Otherwise engineers, give j wyndham price or JWP they might be called now. Based in Penrith, should be familiar with bmcc

 

out of interest, what happened with this- did you get a price? I'm looking at a place that might involve this (depending on design) & wondering about the costs involved.

 

get the cheque book out and make sure you have loaded your account !

 

Try Burton Contractors, Daracon and a few others (a good old advert in the SMH tender section still works).

As above you need a design not only for the road construction but also for the services ie gas, water, storm water, recycled water, power etc.

 

Large civils wont touch a small job. Search for civil contractors and find a local small operator
