It used to take me an hour to get to work when I lived in Melbourne. In Canberra it's never taken me more than five minutes, and that's in peak hour traffic. Bliss.

Temporary situation (all year so far)
    - 2hrs and 10mins each way.
    Fun times.
Looking forward to getting it back down to 90mins in about a month.

I recall my last drink September 22nd 2006 - My Bucks night. Not terribly overwhelming, about 3 Coronas. That makes it 10 years for me this year.

I think in my lifetime, Ive probably collectively drank a carton of beer, a carton of cider type drinks, a bottle of spirits, and a glass of wine. Never really liked the taste, and don't like the way I feel when I drink, so have just not bothered.

As for commute, about a 6 minute drive to my new shed.

One of my first commutes was from Perth to Caracas every 4 weeks.
Now a much more leisurely Sydney to NW Shelf every 2 weeks. I leave Sydney at 7pm and arrive at work around 10 am the next day.

20 minute round trip each day. Used to be about an hour a day for 18 years, but I transferred to a branch closer to home 3 years ago to spend more time with my girls.

    Isn't that more like a 100km ride followed by a 6 minute drive? :p

Well, if you want to get technical my commute is 4hr drive (overnight rest) - 36hours airline travel (overnight rest) - 45min flight - 8min walk.

However, I havent done that since about March/April 2015. I figure that even if I had to do it still, its only once per 4weeks and the 4weeks off makes up for it.

What's scary is that 100km ride each day is just base.

In 5 weeks I start 5 months of dedicated training!

I doubt I'll make it to work much in that time. :p

Where do you live that Parra and Syd are similar times? I'm trying to work it out but my brain is failing for some reason today.

I'm assuming somewhere in the triangle between parramatta and city, so Pennant Hills, Beecroft, Lane cove

I àm not at my work today, a long story. I am at Wickham St. We left home at 6:30 and at the end of my street, I thought I could handle the early morning ride if it meant getting a new job to solve my new $200k problem.

By the time we had progressed to the other side of our suburb, I was thinking the longer than an hour bus ride was looking good.

When we were half way into the city, this lane-splitting thing was making me nauseous and the thought of never ever commuting to the city returned.

Somewhere in that triangle. It's because I use public transport. If I would drive it would be quicker, obviously. But who wants to drive in peak hour?

Went from 1 hour each way (Sydney) to 10 mins each way (Gold Coast).

I don't get through as many audiobooks now.

    About 10 minutes.

9.5 of those minutes is putting the stove top espresso on and waiting for the coffee to be ready before I fire up the computer in the home office. That's 3 days a week. The other 2 it's an hour and 5 door to door, but nearly all at 80km/h+ so not that stressful at all.
