I would say about half /half. My mother never thought she was guilty so I copied her. She said that even if she had been guilty, the hatred and conviction and venom of those who wanted to persecute her was over the top (taking post-natal depression into account). Even when proven innocent people can't let go.
We lived in a Seventh Day Adventist neighbourhood and the people were so gentle and kind. When my sister was having a series of eye operations (which unfortunately didn't work and she lost her sight) neighbours would drop by with cooked dinners for the family - though we hardly knew them.

Dr Chamberlain last year said: “My life – I don’t wish it on anyone”.

It is really sad to see the effect on their children, too. Those boys went through it all and had their parents taken away from them. One of them had a nasty accident and went blind in one eye while his mother was in prison.
I recently read an article in one of the property magazines about how one vendor wouldn't sell a property to one of the (now grown) boys when she realised who he was. .
Anyway, I think Lindy is a successful property mogul now.

This cold case was in my own backyard, Perth, the Claremont serial killer, it has taken 20 years, but they now have a suspect. Not releasing too much info on this, other than DNA is a hit.

I think there has been some sloppy police work with this case, mistakes made from what I have read in previous articles.

You had already mentioned this case, in the first post of this thread.

    My favourite topic, cold cases

Anyone read about this one, resently solved after 40 years, DNA.
But not via the usual, this was through one of those companies that research your ancestry etc. This information/DNA can be accessed via a court order.

Amazing how this guy got away with it this long. I expect his background, ex cop/military helped

Couldn’t resist the opportunity for a visual pun. I’m not travelling at the moment.

I've followed the podcast on the actual court trial. They first put the blame on a loner public servant and then realised he had no ties to the multiple murders. Quite a large extensive forensic investigation went into that case, with things like victims' hair being kept after 10 years of the initial investigations.

I came upon that case because I've followed another very strange and bizarre case of a murdered young school girl in Redbank Plains when I was a teenager myself at the time. The alleged murderer was acquitted after almost 15 years in jail. The original police investigation was very botched also. There are multiple books, podcast, online forums on the story and even multiple TV docco's.
    BACKGROUND

Meshel Laurie & Emily Webb have a pretty good podcast page on cold and solved cases, not for faint-hearted though. Episodes | Australian True Crime Podcast

    thanks this is fascinating

Have you heard of Andrew Mallard?
He was a very close friend of my bestie and was convicted of a murder he never committed. He was released but tragic ending. Appeared on Australian Story. My G/friend in this
