80 cent take away at the local servo and the local beach. Though I did used to fuel myself on $4 coffees on the road doing sales and to escape offices. Plunger espresso or instant is pretty cheap.

Life is too short to have bad coffee/wine/chocolate!
I almost exclusively eat chocolate from Haigh's or Koko black, when I'm in Australia anyway, my rationale is that if I have to eat something that makes me fat, might as well just get the best ones.

I don't drink coffee, only black tea, no sugar. Basically just a tea bag & hot water. There are some places that I really cringe when they ring it up, like on Friday night we were out. Hubby ordered me a tea. They charged $5 for it & I had to wait for 10 minutes for them to 'make' it, despite them having a coffee machine with boiling water on tap. Grrrrr

But it does take a lot of skill to make a decent cuppa.

You can't brutalise the tea leaves and leave them bruised, water & cup have to be at the correct temperatures to prevent tea shock (toxicity of the tannins), must allow the Brownian motion to come to rest before pouring.

I don't mind Campos @Tranquilo but Merlo is da bomb. Hands down winner for my taste buds.

    Nice perks with your job.

Are baristas like civets? Eating the coffee beans then someone collects them at the other end and charges a motza for the special blend?

If the title of "Barista" really meant anything, then we would have uniform high levels of skill and not see such a variation in the quality of the coffee made.......many stores use good quality coffee beans but lack of operator skills and regular machine maintenance produces rubbish coffee.

I can't make a decent cuppa from Liptons - made several attempts with one batch and none of them were drinkable. I Now use Nerada.
