I have not yet confirmed the links - but nothing in this article would surprise me as anything but accurate.

Billionaire Mining Magnate Gina Rinehart Revealed As Key Donor to Australian Climate Science Denial Promoter Institute of Public Affairs

" Gina Rinehart, has been revealed as a key funder of the right wing think tank the Institute of Public Affairs (IPA) — a major pusher of climate science denial."

"The IPA is an influential right wing think tank with close ties to Australia’s governing Liberal Party."

Also, as Australia's richest woman, she is yet to make a donation to any bushfire relief or affected wildlife charity

Regardless of one's opinion on climate change - renewable are the way of the future so we either embrace and transition (jobs and energy) or we get left behind in a crunch-time economy with a major export product that no one wants

An article detailing the future of energy production in 2020 in the US - a country who's leaders are still pro-fossil - yet the private economy is moving rapidly towards renewables:

Renewable Energy Prices Hit Record Lows: How Can Utilities Benefit From Unstoppable Solar And Wind?

"EIA reports U.S. electricity generation from renewable energy exceeded coal for the first time in April 2019, and forecasts coal generation will decline 13% in 2020. EIA also projects natural gas generation will only grow 1.3% in 2020 – the slowest rate since 2017 – while non-hydropower renewable energy generation will grow 15% in 2020 – the fastest rate in four years."

"Utility-scale renewable energy prices are now significantly below those for coal and gas generation, and they're less than half the cost of nuclear. The latest numbers again confirm that building new clean energy generation is cheaper than running existing coal plants.

In other words, it is now cheaper to save the climate than to destroy it."

I read somewhere on the forum something about we're looking as gas fired, even hooking it up to the snowy, and l cringed . lf you see around sth west vic there is NOTHING , natural or renewable or pretty about gas, just more of sucking the planet dry boring dirty big holes in it and running monster pipes all over the damn place .
30 yrs time there's no more gas and more emptyness sucked out of the earth , what's renewable about that , totally controdicts the very essence of renewable.

And l wonder if anyone in the world has realized that sucking the blood out of the planet with oil and gas and all the other crap , is probably destroying the planets inner cooling system too.

Renewables will not provide enough energy density to power all the cities, the driverless cars, AI snd 5G related industries. Renewables have been proven to be unreliable right now, and judging what other countries are doing, they are going for nuclear thorium reactors which produce far more energy per unit of input and have a much smaller wastage both in land space used to produce the stuff and wastage storage.

People like Gina Probably also in bed with left wing CCP and their totalitarian system. Other rich guys like Cannon Brookes and Twiggy Forrest putting big money into Northern Territory solar farms. All these guys are laughing their heads off, while average Australian subsidies them by paying higher electricity bills.

You shouldnt blindly believe propaganda that suits your bias. Gina did donate and run a fund raiser, just because she doesnt big note herself and hold news conferences to announce what she gives, doesnt mean she doesnt give,. She would be giving news conferences every day and the haters would still hate anyway and find fault. She has more class and integrity than that. She has given millions to many hospital, RFDS, cancer and COVID research, providing defibrillators and health services.

Planet of the Humans is based largely on out of date data, particularity regarding solar and the life cycle energy of fossil fuel power plants. MM may end up wishing he hadn't put his name to this one. It's at least a decade out of date.

Not sure what thrusting dated and sensationalist videos forward is supposed to do ... I prefer to follow the up-to-date advancements

I've said before (many many times) and will say again ... either Australia becomes part of the new technology revolution or we get left behind

Thermal coal spot price tumbles 25 per cent, putting pressure on some producers - ABC News

"60 per cent of global coal production is now unprofitable and 30 per cent of Australian producers are also running at a loss ... with one leading analyst saying it is because of a reduction in demand and a fundamental global shift to renewables"

I think you will also find that most people aren't against nuclear - we are simply against outdated and downright dangerous/wasteful nuclear production ... there have been some significant advances in nuclear production:

    TerraPower - Wikipedia

... but, despite very promising trial periods, looks like politics has gotten in the way again:

Bill Gates’ Nuclear Reactor Hits a Roadblock

"One major problem with a TWR power plant is the price. It will cost about $3 billion to build a demonstration reactor. Even Bill Gates isn’t rich enough to fund it himself. TerraPower had signed a promising agreement with China to build a demonstration reactor, but the project has been shuttered due to China-U.S. trade tensions."

Good to see some local government members are looking ahead realistically:

How steel could secure the Hunter's future

"The International Energy Agency forecasts coal use in China - the world's largest coal consumer - will peak in just two years' time. And while Indian coal demand is still growing strongly, its mines minister recently flagged a boost to local mining and an end to coal imports

Green steel is made by using renewable energy to extract hydrogen from water, and then using this hydrogen in place of coal in the steel-making process. Using coal to make steel releases carbon dioxide, but using hydrogen releases only water. The Hunter has access to the high-quality renewable energy needed to make hydrogen cost-effectively. It is the hub of the New South Wales power grid, and can draw a mix of solar and wind energy from the north, south and west of the state."

Renewables Threaten German Economy & Energy Supply, McKinsey Warns In New Report
Well this is an up to date article that highlights the reality happening right now. All those sources that criticise Michael Moore are climate change activists, hardly a genuine evidence based rebuttal. Moore is far more credentialed.

This is the problem with renewables and it comes down to efficiency and energy density which is why thorium nuclear reactors are far superior and renewables will be old hat.

    For multitude reasons - they're not - :(

Is Thorium the Fuel of the Future to Revitalize Nuclear? | Power Engineering

"LFTRs do present a few challenges. There are significant gaps in the research and necessary materials for LFTRs. The post-processing chemical facilities, which would separate uranium from the molten salts for re-use, haven’t been viably constructed yet. Each reactor would require some highly enriched uranium (such as uranium-235) to start the reactor, which is very expensive. Scientists suggest a $5 billion investment over the next five years could net a viable reactor solution in the United States, but with limited funding for thorium, it is difficult to see this vision come to fruition."

Don't know much about her nice to hear though but l agree on one thing , the clowns that hold all these news conferences usually have other motives while playing the saint . Craziest thing is no one seems to spot them , too busy banging on about how good they are , played like a fiddle .
