As per the title, looking for ideas to buy presents for kids who already have everything! I really wish we can just forget this idea. Blame the parents: all year round the kids are already showered with presents. Unlike our days where we either got it once a year, or thank the good Lord we at least had food and clothing! We had Christmas dinner, and go to Midnight Mass, then went home and slept. Blissful! (Here we go again........)

Thinking of under $30 each, the cheaper the better since the parents are not too hard-done-by. It's the thoughts that count, you know!

Maybe best thing is a gift card for Westfield. They can get whatever they want then at a variety of different stores.

What about movie vouchers? Of course, that's no good for a 5yr old.

Lots of little cheap toys. $10 nerf gun. $4 little sticky spider that you throw at the wall and it climbs down. $5 slime. $15 little lego kits. Etc...

Board games $25 at target. I get them for my ungrateful nephew who is addicted to gaming his parents allow him to spend 24/7 on electronics without any boundaries or rules. He pretty much rips open the paper and throws them in the pile with all the other stuff then unwraps about $2k worth of games and consoles that our other relatives spoil him with.btw he is not even 10.

Probably a bit late, but I believe personalised items are much more valued and appreciated over generic gifts.

What age and interests do they have ?

Do they, for example, follow a particular sporting team - or play a sport ?

I like movie vouchers too. They are my go to for everyone I have no idea what to buy for :)

If you wanted to be less materialistic then get them an experience with you - afternoon fishing, a few driving lessons with you, trip to the movies, etc etc

Then over the next 12mths work on your family to do a secret santa style present regime. You can up the price to $100 and you get maybe 2 kids from the extended family to buy for. Kids have enough!

Board games! But not the ones that are in major retail shops (KMart, Target, etc).
Try the highly rated games like Carcassonne, Sheriff of Nottingham, Ticket To Ride, 7 Wonders, etc. Kids (and parents) will love it - lots of fun, they will play it again and again. However the budget for those games is between $50-70 per game if buy online or $60-90 in retail.

OMG you have just bought back a memory from my childhood of playing a game called Squatter (???) which was about sheep farming. My memory is pretty hazy but I'm sure that's right

My kids might receive an electric toothbrush each, if i ever remember to put them onto my grocery lists. They got a fridge and a washing machine already.
