    Its not about the tourists. Its about the money they spend at local businesses which translates to someone's salary which is spent at local businesses.

    In all places, economies are cyclical so attracting some money from outside is a welcome addition to the cycle.

    In economics, they call it the mutiplier effecct, where for example an intital outlet keeps on spreading throughout the econmomy.
