Chinese buyers shun Australian property, look to Serbia

    Dams are just part of the infrastucture required for any mining operation.

    In Australia you just dig a hole and fill it with waste water , much of it gets filled back into big water trucks and is used as dust suppression on the haul roads.
    In mountainous areas, thats not always possible due to the limited area and high rainfall.Then you have the locals that want work , how do you teach someone to drive a $3 million truck that cannot even read english , or any other language to a reasonable level.
    So you need outsiders to operate the machinery ,thats causes lots of friction.
    Locals just come onto site and help themselves.
    Staff at many of there locations are kept in fenced camps to keep them safe.

    Chinese investment in Serbia is going to cause them headaches when they want to join the EU.
    Property investors in China think Serbia is going to be the next big thing. But if that's what mainstream papers say, then the best place to buy is probably somewhere else.

    After owning in Redfern the Chinese now believe they're prepared for Serbia
