If that were the case the Aus corporates would’ve done it already. India (or whoever else) can’t afford to buy so much.

I dont know why we are picking a fight with China. Not sure why our political leaders felt the need to lead the charge on this one. Surely there must have been a considered discussion behind closed doors that led to us so publicly spearheading the campaign for an inquiry.

Why are we shooting ourselves in the foot this way? Is it the US twisting our arm? Is it to stoke some anti-china sentiment? Is it to demonstrate we aren't a pushover? They are our biggest trading partner and have a demonstrated history of using economic pressure for political gain, there are plenty of other nations, with greater clout, less connected with china and more affected by covid that should/would have led this charge.

i think there is something like 60 countries picking a fight with China

I agree with you though we cant afford to lose China. That’s why I said we need to eat humble pie

Our economy will struggle as it is, we dont want to lose our largest exporter, economic suicide

The pollies do represent the people so from my feel on the ground there is a bit of support in the community with what was said. However it's quite strange for Australia to lead fhe charge on something like this but someone had to

Agree someone has to but that someone will end up paying the price for it. That is just how things work. Personally I think Australia didn't have to be that someone. Not when we are facing a large increase in unemployment.

This is after what happened to iron ore yesterday with China now going to check iron ore shipment randomly rather than systematically. I suspect most checking will be targeted towards Australia iron ore. Time will tell.

Again not great. Last time the Chinese government tried to raise national sentiment against a country, Chinese tourism to South Korea dropped to like close to zero.

I suspect that will be Australia soon

Tourism is under water at the moment, so its just going to get very ugly

this Will equate to job losses and in turn our economy struggling

i would not be rushing to buy property in this environment. Its going to take a while for the dust to settle
