Internal, external? just paint or other stuff too?

    My go to are
external paint colours - dulux shale grey, dulux basalt, dulux whisper white (some variations depending on if it's paint or render)
external roof - colorbond shale grey, basalt, monument or surfmist
external fence - colorbond basalt (sometimes shale grey if neighbours won't agree and want a lighter colour)
internal paint colours - Dulux Brume 50% tint with Lexicon Quarter trim/doors or Vivid white walls and trim
Cabinetry - often it's Laminex ghostgum and natural oak
    flooring - oak vinyl
carpet - mid grey solution dyed nylon
    tiling - grey and white

    examples

Thanks @Westminster. My PPOR is more than 30 years old and I am so sick of the late 1980s. What about polished hardwood timber floorboards? There is no way we are putting carpet over real timber.

My last house was like that, it had mission brown roof & trim. I did monument on the lot plus roller door & fences, probably went overboard with monument but couldn't choose another colour to add in the mix. But it looks so much better in the before & after pics

Beautiful hardwoods - I would never cover them either. Jarrah ?

This is one of my renovations with jarrah floorboards. I kept everything quite simple and let the boards do all the talking

The walls in this one are Vivid White but the Brume (soft grey) would also have worked

Jarrah is a a WA wood. I think most of Brisbane is Silky Oak. A bit lighter and less red. Both very beautiful wood!

Its not jarrah and it doesn't have spots like I am familiar with seeing silky oak. IIRC we were only told it's hardwood. Some is beautiful red but most was golden. It has darkened with age - the back half of the house is still in very good nick but the kitchen and living room is very worn.

My outdoor furniture is also not jarrah, it's kwilla. Jarrah costs so much more to transport here.
