I'll take some tonight when the carpet's in. The only essential things left to do will be to whack some plants in, install the vanity, and to fix the oven & aircon.

Apparently the carpet they were going to lay in the living area had a hole in it, so they've "upgraded" me to another carpet with a square pattern. I do not like square patterns as I've only seen them in cheap properties, so this may get interesting.

Pretty much - they ended up installing the right one which is good. Cost $1290. Now I have 4 rooms' worth of old carpet, curtains, and awnings that I don't want or need. If anyone wants them, I'm giving them away for free.

I put an ad up on Gumtree, 50 schmeckels to the first person who can remove it all.

So far lots of people want the $50 but their dilemma is that they don't want to do the work.

Almost there! Just need to install the vanity properly and add some silicone and grout in the bathroom, and level up the paving to the clothesline. Otherwise all the landscaping and painting is now done. This room used to be purple DSC_0013.JPG

Looks fantastic. That bathroom really works! I'm amazed at how fast you've been able to work.
Can I ask what colour painted the walls?

The walls were painted with the standard British paints white, but anything that didn't need to be painted was left alone.

How much prep did you do, like wash with sugar soap or light sand and wipe with a wet cloth?
    Or just paint straight over?

Washed all the walls with sugar soap, had to sand the purple room too cos one wall was painted with a brush pretty badly.

The vanity still isn't installed for a number of reasons, the plumber cut the pipe too close to the wall so I had to mess around with extra joins and bits and I just couldn't make it work. It doesn't help that I bought a cheap vanity. So that should be done tomorrow at the last minute by another plumber.

Total cost for the reno will be under 4k and that includes all new tools.

Pic of the front yard, I levelled out the massive pile of sand with a shovel. It all looks a bit dead now but it should be alright
