I'm sure you're already looking but if be keeping an eye on eBay, gumtree, fb buy &sell pages and everywhere else you can think of, I've found quite a few odd sized shower screens, no guarantees but worth a look!

    Today was repairs day!
-Electrician replaced all dodgy lights and power points, including the addition of a flood light for where the gazebo is going
-Plumber disconnected gas oven, bathroom sink, and fixed leaking toilet
-Door guy fixed the screen & glass sliding doors

All up $800.. but it had to be done.

    Remaining items:

    Bathroom:
    Replace damaged tiles
    Retile bathroom floor
Replace sink with nicer vanity unit
Add shower screen (if I can find one)

    Laundry & Toilet:
    Add splashback
    Tile toilet

    Bedrooms:
    Add carpet
    Finish painting interior of BIR

    Kitchen:
Add vinyl floor, paint splashback, put oven back

    Living & Hallway:
    Add carpet
    Finish painting walls in lounge

    Outside:
    Reattach the shed door
    Build a ******* gazebo
Remove rust from pergola and paint posts, drill some drainage holes
    Clean gutters
Fix cladding that's coming away on the side of the house
    Get Telstra line repaired*

*Turns out this was severed at some point.

Ebony - and ivory - go together in perfect harmony.
Although I don't have them side by side on my keyboard...

    Progress..

I've tried so very hard to get the phone line repaired by Telstra but they're f**king hopeless. I explain the situation but they continue to ask if I'm trying to sign up to a home phone plan. When I say no they put me through to someone else who asks the same thing. It's infuriating.

And since this is the first time I've been in the house since Tradie Thursday, I've found some of them didn't do the job they were asked to do..

At least the kitchen looks a little better.

    Yeah looks good.
Don't know how many times I need to make the same mistake. ALWAYS be there when the tradies are there.

Haha :D ah i shouldn't laugh. What's happened to it? Damaged before you purchased?

I was just talking to an old work mate about those champions ;) he needed to move a telstra line and after a bunch of calls and getting the run around etc they told him if would be a few months to inspect, price, do the job etc etc he'd had enough of them and said what would happen if i rip it up with an excavator right now? And they said someone would be out asap. He ended up getting around it but you just gotta call the right number and right person ;)
    Try
    REPORT DAMAGE TO TELSTRA EQUIPMENT

Have you tried fixing yourself? It's basically matching the colours for a basic house line. Then heaps of duct tape. I'm assuming it's buried?

Can't - I refuse to pay them some absurd amount per 15 minutes because I can only be there on a weekend..
It's overhead. It's hanging from my house, it was like that from day 1. The other end was rolled up next to the stobie pole. They sent out a technician who removed the excess cable to make it "safer" - he was meant to f**king connect them, now I'm even further from what I wanted.

I've submitted a ticket via that link so hopefully something happens..

Painted the lounge room walls today, only the ceiling to go. The tile paint in the kitchen looks good.. at a distance. Up close it didn't turn out so well but let's ignore that.

The house becomes mine on Friday but I still haven't received the loan contract to sign. I haven't even started jackhammering up the tiles in the bathroom either, I need to get on to that. I also need to do a crash course on gazebo building! And the carpet dude is avoiding me.. I haven't been able to pay a deposit yet.

    Spend so far: $2.7k
Still to pay for: Carpet, vinyl, remaining 50% of shower screen, slave labour, and gazebo materials

Looking good Joel, And on a tight budget so far. Any chance you want to share your shower screen contact. I have a similar house in the area, which also requires a custom shower screen.

I'll be happy to share once they've done a good job.

Carpet and vinyl is now booked in for August 2nd, about $1750 all up. That's 3 bedrooms, hallway, lounge and kitchen. I paid a $500 deposit so I'm up to $3.2k.

Most of the remaining work now is outside so I hope this weather f**ks off

I guess so,it used to be if they were lower than 4.2 M from the ground,it was their problem to fix.

They should install them at the specified height. If under you can cruise on through ;) it's the electric ones that make a nice light show

Lounge room looks good, and I managed to not break the vanity while putting it together so that's a plus..

I'm hoping I can get everything finished this weekend. it all depends on the weather now

Dunno, Bunnings I guess. Or the neighbours' tree.

My conveyancer just called to tell me I have insufficient funds to settle tomorrow - somehow they've misplaced 30 grand. Can't say I'm surprised, they even had the address wrong at one point.. Hopefully they sort it out.
