Chart of the day: Australia pipped by Switzerland for debt world title - The ABC, 8th June 2018

Australia may be rank outsiders to make the football World Cup final, but we are global finalists when it comes to household debt.

Do you think we will be able to knock Switzerland off before our debt laden economy collapses?

It would be nice to be able to tell our grandchildren that we had the worlds largest debt fueled housing bubble, i.e actually get something out of it like an accolade.

This country isn't what it used to be, we can't win anything anymore.

You have to give credit when its due.
We did send Scott Morrision on a Junket a few back to the U.K and he did come up with some pretty big housing affordability ideas.

One was to stop claiming for travel deductions to visit property, and the other big one was to stop people claiming deductions for furnishings that someone else had already claimed as a deduction

The extra tax gained from investors not claiming travel expenses should go towards politicians and their families and friends travel expenses it's only fair.
