Ceiling Fan - how much wobble is acceptable?

    I have an old ceiling fan that wobbles ever so slightly. More so when the fan speed is on low than on high. The wobbling is very mild, but its noticeable particularly on low speed.

    I have called someone to checked it out and he said it was secure and safe and that a little wobbling is not unusual.

    The fan is old, not the newer models that have stabilisation. I measured the blade distance from ceiling and all are the same.

    Anyone had the same thing with their fans?

    How about securing a small weight on one of the blades and see if it decreases the wobble?
