    Hi all,

Does anyone here know a good car insurance broker for prestige sports cars? i.e. >300k

NRMA have served me well for my daily driver, but even with my Lotus I have a feeling the specialised insurers are worth a lookl; problem is they are hard to find without trawling various forums. Aiming to upgrade next year and NRMA might not cover at all.

A mate of a mate of mine does this. I'll get his details.

That awkward moment when you search for something and only find yourself asking the same question in the past...

Potentially having the same first world problem again. NRMA won't quote for these cars even over the phone, so before I start ringing around Lumleys Shannons etc I thought I'd try the broker approach again. Filled out QuoteRack's online form but not sure of the strength of their broker network.

Meanwhile, has anyone used a car insurance broker personally? @Simon L perhaps?

I had a really good contact.....but just went with famous insurance ... Came in roughly half of what brokers could get me...includes 1 free windscreen per year and can also option track cover.... People I know with 500k+ cars also use them for value for money

Totally forgot they offer comprehensive! Looked into them in the past for trackday cover but the rest of the picture didn't twig. Cheers

Quick update after 8 quotes: NRMA, Enthusiast Underwriting, Allianz and Vero all declined to insure based on vehicle type.

Famous was the cheapest by far, along with having the lowest excess by far. MB Group was the most expensive at over 3 times Famous' price.

    2nd, im also with famous.

but with the track. i think only covers 10k or something. so its kinda not worth it. and you have to pay a "special" fee on top of it from memory.

I won't be getting track cover as the vast majority of my track time isn't CAMS-sanctioned (so wouldn't be covered anyway). I'd consider it in the future though if I go back to Lotus and do Targa...
