    Hi all.

Just posting a thread for a Brisbane catch up dinner. Rather than in the city itself, thought i'd keep it to
the fringe of the CBD at the West End Hotel. There's enough transport servicing the area and also enough street parking nearby at that time to suit those driving.

    Monday 23rd March 2020 @ 6.00 pm.

Please RSVP here to this thread with numbers so I can firm up with the venue

    Cheers :)

Hi all, hasn't been mentioned as yet but I take it we'll be postponing this catch up?

I'd say I would prefer not to go now that the next few weeks may be very important to us personally, and the Brisbane population in general. My husband cannot fight infection, so just this weekend, I've put my foot down and said we are sticking close to home as much as we can, and certainly avoiding crowds at what I believe is a critical time.

@wylie I share your train of thought.. I am going to exercise caution and give this one a miss. We can always schedule another meet up once everything has calmed down.

I was mulling this over the past few days and was waiting for news and developments and forum sentiment/mood.. My main reason for the trip was also canned today. I was to attend QODE Innovation Festival which now be streamed as a virtual event. I totally understand that not everyone is comfortable even with a few others. Not trivialising the risk to others that we might pose either in our family and immediate circle. We have the same discussion with my wife about her elderly mum who is in a nursing home.

    Booking for dinner cancelled.

Hopefully some other time when things are more settled, safe and relaxed.
@wylie , could you please edit the thread header to indicate cancelled.

Be well everyone. Stay healthy. :)

As you know, my wife is coming back from chermo. Her immune system was seriously compromised during that treatment; we just don’t know if she had fully recovered from it as yet.

We have done the same as you - we don’t go out unless we absolutely have to. We do as much as we can online or over the phone. For example, today we held our annual review with our FP. We prefer face-to-face but, in the current circumstances, today’s meeting over the phone was the right choice for us. Hopefully, next year, it will be back to face-to-face.

One positive thing about her chermo treatment that we never envisaged is the health/hygiene practices we employed during the chermo period was a good training course for what we might/will have to do for the next how-many months .
