Not NBN but I'm lucky enough to be in a Docklands tower that has fibre internet http://www.spirit.com.au/apartment-fibre-internet - 50/50 in my case. Much faster for larger downloads and uploads, but for general browsing less so - it still takes the server the same length of time to get its act together in response to a URL request.

I call BS on that website. I have never been in the NBN rollout plan. I have always been in the "see you in 100 years" rollout timeframe ;)

    Sure did! :)

NBN is a mess, I agree, but it was a mess long before the Abbott government, who haven't done anything to fix it IMO.

    Thank goodness.

It was never going to,happen under the former govt, at least the current govt is being honest with people.

We can all lament that which was never to be. But if we are honest, the current govt is not to blame.

I blame the last 3 governments and the current government. It has been a mess from the start. I'm mostly sore because the Labor government ran NBN from the airport to the nearest safe Labor seat, with the main cable running right near my house. Now the people virtually next door can get NBN but I still can't. Then this gov. took too long to review and too long to start rolling out FTTN. At this point, I would LOVE FTTN. Instead, thanks to 4 stupid governments in a row, I get nada.

I don't understand the NBN roll out plan. It would make sense to do the most populated areas first and then the least populated. However that's far from the case. I get the impression that they have a big map of Australia on the floor, chop off a chickens head and wherever it stumbles to and eventually falls is the next NBN roll out area.

No, its quite simple. It's rolled out to areas with marginal seats to win them over.

Of course. If I'd just have thought like a politician for a minute there I would have seen the pattern :)
