When buying at an auction, can I trust a report ordered by the agent or do I need to buy my own?

    Depends...
    • Are there any issues which you are aware of but haven't been raised?
    • Is it from a reputable company?
    • Are they insured?
    • Do you have to pay to access the document?

Depends on what you mean by trust.

If you have not contracted with the building inspector you could not sue them for breach of contract. It might also be impossible to sue for negligence too.

seek legal advice or order your own inspection to be safe
