Dont you hate it when the bank is the one who rang you, and then they ask you half a dozen "security" questions" : your name, DOB, Address, email........ Rant over!
Careful it's not a scammer. If I ever get a call from a bank and they want my details I then ask what department they're calling from and tell them I will call them back on the advertised bank contact number. Did this a while ago and called the bank and they had no record of an outbound call so put it down to something dodgy.
Ive started to think this too! the next time they call, I m going to ask them security questions, I love it how they call and they expect you to jump through hoops, just so you have the privilege of talking to them
Last purchase I made, Loan thru one bank, then transfered to my existing account with another bank interstate to settle. Was literally outside at 9am waiting to draw bank cheques when my mobile rang....... Head office "offering" to help me with my new found wealth Only time that bank has EVER called me

Haha glad to see you are poking fun with my misery.... This is a real Bank. I know coz I emailed them. But why they chose to respond by calling not emailing is bizarre... Can't stand talking to them, repeat and repeat and go round the circle....
Bugger. I was just trying to update my details... TV .. No Man's Land... apparently the postcode doesn't have a bank branch...
The ATO is the one that really annoys me. They ring but can't tell you why until you give full name, dob and address - I refuse and ask why - they refuse until I identify myself - (once I really thought it was a scam and swore the buggery out of the guy) - have to call the ATO back on their listed number and work my way through two departments with 4 abns + personal name to try and find out why they called - then get transferred several more times to get to the right department regarding the initial call ... ... was advised last time that I can simply request them to identify me by my voice
Worse, when you forget one of the security questions and they tell you to phone back later when you remember.....
Or you could enrol with voiceprint as @Lizzie mentioned. Apparently it's not too bad, and has 3 million people enrolled already. Voice authentication
