24mm of rain in 20 minutes in Geelong the other night caused flooding and was a national news story. 90mm in 60 minutes in Cairns one night.....yawn.:p

Geeze, that's a bit of water.
You don't hear much about up north on the news down here.

There would have to be some ******** politicians to not let this get through - so still touch and go.
Apparently there's a decision this week? Can't find any other news.

Go Cairns. Lucky I took my dog off the market. Phew. Dodged that bullet.

Really? I know it's been a while, but it would suck if you got rid of it and then it took off.
I think we should hear some good news in the next week or so.

Just signed another 12 month lease... It would suck more if I sold for 10% less than the bank val, which was my purchase price 8 years ago. Negative. blech.

    Hi Bran
I thought you recently signed a new 12 month lease. Did you sell to an investor??
    Cheers

Couple of news articles to bump up the thread.

The planned airport redevelopment has now been scrapped, despite very encouraging numbers in the first half of 2017 -->

Cairns has been able to win the $55m a year contract to maintain Navy Patrol boats, despite missing out on the $500mil contract to build the boats last year. Also, the ship builder Austral has also been awarded a $24m contract to maintain small pacific class ships and pacific patrol boats in Cairns for the next 7 years.

Interesting if these type of little wins can continue to move Cairns away from a one-trick-pony based around tourism.
