    True I didn't read the article property, was trying to convey that there are still thousands of SMSF buying residential property.

    Okay so...
    yet holdings of direct property in SMSFs has held steady at about 15 per cent of assets

    So the number is roughly 566k x 0.15 x 0.23 = 19,552 or approx. 20k SMSF with residential property.

    Sounds like many thousands to me :) :).

    There is no way I would buy a resi IP in a SMSF. I know others may disagree but that's OK.
