I use Kydon Segal Lawyers in Sydney, they charge me around $1300-$1500, they've always done the right thing by me - the solicitor is available for legal matters, with enough staff around not to be 'stuck in court' all the time.

after the exchange of contracts, you usually have 42 days to prepare everything for settlement. it seems like a long time to turn over a matter but when a conveyancer or solicitor has a large volume (due to low fees) things can go wrong if work process is not managed properly. go for reputable professionals.

You won't get one at the $500 end there. I used one (the one my folks use) and it was $1400 for a pretty standard settlement (and they also managed to miss the actual settlement! They rescheduled and wore the extra costs naturally).

Might not be able to buy off the solicitor but umpires, referees, jockeys & the odd public official
