Well it's acceptable, depending on how much you love the ones with people in obvious pain, like a crucifixion scene. Although I'm quite partial myself.

Actually, it is the Madonna and child and the Last Supper and and a few other similar prints. Not people in pain. I love that style of art, and some of it is religious, but others are just old masters (copies obviously) :D. But anyone who doesn't know us would think we are very religious family I think. Or maybe that we just have a taste in art that differs from our personalities :p.

Living in a converted church... i dont know. Surely it would take years to scrub the ignorance away, that had seeped into the walls.

Just paint over it. The smell works on evil spirits.

I like some of the paintings that look like typical religious paintings, but have some odd things in them that when you look closely make you go "hang on a second..."

Alain de Boton wrote a great book about religious art and its relevance today - other than religious. There are certainly some beautiful human moments captured.

I love church conversions! I don't think I would attempt one though, not without heaps of experience!

Hmmmm. converting a church to a house?

    Dining table on the alter.

Mattress on the pews as a bed.

I'm going off to the commission, my high school deputy is about to time for his wandering hands and I'm looking to put together a class action for no attention, was I ugly? Was it the pimples? My personality??

Just make sure you have a good relationship with God before buying ... just saying. :)
