I have come across some units (Brisbane) next to a vacant block that is scheduled to start developing soon, not the ideal situation but should I rule it out completely due to this?

When does the construction start on the block next door? Sometimes those developments can be delayed for 12 -24 months, I would also be looking at how long construction is meant to take.
What's the main concern you have with buying next to a development site?

I think construction is end of this year/ start of next. My main concern is noise and getting tenants in as it would be an investment property.

Have you checked the DA to see how it might impact the unit you're interested? For example, your unit might lose some natural light and privacy, etc, all which could impact tenancy and future sale.

Thanks, the unit does have a 'light well' and they are fairly lowset compared to the building being built so I would imagine it will definitely affect the light. Probably explains why quite a few people are selling in the apartments!
