Today is the 9th of April. You have 3 weeks left :)

I got the deal last week for the wife and I.. the Google Pixel 2 XL is an awesome phone. Loving it.
You also get a Google Home mini and a good set of earphones in the bundle.

Sorry, I must be very anxious for winter to come.

I'm not ready for anything quite yet. I'm sure there will be another deal coming when I'm ready.

I'm not sure of the value of a high-end phone for me when I'm on a tight budget, and have lost or broken phones in the past. $59 per month including phone and data is a good deal- but my current deal ends up at $40pm even if I count my phone as lasting just 12 months- and it's already well past that.

It definitely depends on the amount of data you want/ the amount of calling or texting you do.

Virgin has some great affordable plans that include lots of data.

    New Telstra customer.
$59/MTH, 15GB data, unlimited calls and text. 24 month contract. For every person you add to your bill, and share the data, you get an extra 5GB. So I share 35GB with the wife.
Free Google Pixel 2 XL, free Google Home mini, free earphones.

You can only share data with someone that is on your bill. So yes, with Telstra.
If you don't want to share, you still get 15GB to yourself.
Sharing makes sense for us because I use a heap of data and the wife doesn't. So I can use 30GB, while she uses 5GB.

The Google Pixel is Android based, yes.

Did you manage to get it down to $49 pm after chatting to Telstra online (it can still be done after you ported)? They can also give you 5GB bonus data is you ported in from a different network making it 20GB per month.

I've got the deal myself and at $49 pm and 20GB data it looks like a great deal. Used to be with Kogan (vodafone network) but the Telstra coverage is so much better. Loving it so far.

Thanks for this, gonna give it a try. Currently on Telstra Cap Encore (old grandfathered prepaid plan) and tired of remembering to buy the Browse Plus Packs every month.

Wow, one of the user got international calling and $200 jb hifi voucher.

But I have 2 main questions:-
This google pixel 2 xl mobile is 4g with 2 years contract and if 5g comes in near future what will happen to the phone-upgrade, still can be used or need to get new fon compatible with 5g?

Secondly, if I ho to Jb higi and get 49$ then contact Telsta but they refuse the $59 due to any reasons then will I be stuck ?-!

The Google Pixel 2 is one of a growing number of new phones which don't have an earphone jack. That would put me off- though it seems the way of the future.

If you ever listen to music through earphones or headphones, there's a plug in the phone you plug them into. That plug has been removed in a lot of newer phones, I think it's because it makes it more susceptible to water damage inside. I think you may now need Bluetooth or an adaptor, I'm not quite sure. But you can't just plug in your old earphones.

I'm pretty sure the phone does not support 5G. Not sure if there are any other phones on the market that do (probably none at this point in time).

You'll get it from JB HiFi on a 24 month contract at $59. Once ported, you can chat online to telstra and ask for a $10 discount (and +5GB) as a new customer who ported from a different network. While they can refuse (may have to try a few times) the success rate is pretty high as per the ozbargain comments.

Really? I'll have to try it. What did you ask for?
EDIT: I just asked, and got $10/MTH credit per phone for the entirety of the contract. Stoked! Saves me $480!

It comes with an adaptor. You need a decent amount of effort to disconnect the 3.5mm from the adaptor, and the plug into the phone is better too.
My headphones used to come out all the time.. now they don't without force! So much better.

Glad it helped :). Well, technically I think it's 24x10=$240 saving unless you are on a 4 years contract somehow ;).

EDIT: If that's for two plans than that's right. Easy $480 :).

@mikey7 Have another go and ask them for +5GB if you are still on 15GB ;).
