Buying in Thornton 2322, Newcastle

    What are your thoughts on the Thornton property market. I live in sydney on the northern beaches and bought in Thornton early last year. Good returns in my option

    Hey Khane,

    Investment wise I think you could put your money into better areas in Newcastle/ Maitland. The yield will be around 5% but Thornton like the rest of Newcastle has had decent growth over the last 4 Years. With the new subdivision close by at Harvest/ Chisholm with what seems like unlimited new blocks of land buyers will always have plenty to choose from. Limiting short term Captial gains.

    Yeah 5.3%
    There has been some growth since i purchased the house. Perhaps in 5 years i should see some good growth
    It was mainly the price range that got me

    Sorry Khane, I read it as you were looking to buy in the area I didn’t realise you had already. You would of done pretty well buying at the start of 2016.

    Hey Khane, where abouts in Thornton did you buy? And what size land / house did you get?
