    Hi all,

I am in the final stages of prchasing a house built in 1976 and has no final inspection certificate found within the searches. Builadig approval is found.

Because the council had changed from Albert shore council to what is now Logan city council may have resulting in the error.

Would you buy a house with no final inspection certificate and what do you suggest I do?

If it bothers you, just apply to the council to get one done retrospectively.

We built our first house in 1974.
There was no such thing then as a final inspection certificate, at least we never had one. Builder completed, bank made final payment and we were handed the keys.

Thanks for your response. My worry is that if I will have any issues when I try to sell it.

Give Council a call and ask them if one was needed at the time it was built.

If the answer is no, get this advice in writing. If the answer is yes, get a certificate.

Either way, Council is the place to start.
