Hello, We are looking at a property in Copeland Rd Beecroft, the North Connex runs directly under the front yard 16m down (according to the agents anyway!)
The tunnel is complete but not open yet so can't tell if there will be noise or anything yet, I wonder if the sellers timed it this way on purpose!
What would you think? The home is built in 1963

I would love to know your thoughts regarding whether this would be a bad risk to take or should it be fine. is 16m down considered far or close for a tunnel?

I'm only 28 and never purchased a home before so appreciate your expertise!

maybe talk to council about if there will be any restrictions on development due to the tunnel etc, that could be a negative for future CG.

Hey thanks for everyone that's posted so far. We have a structural engineer going to look at it this week, and a pest and building booked. We are intending to bid at auction on Saturday if they come back all good. So nervous I feel sick, especially with all this talk of property prices dropping... as our mortgage is gonna be huge. I can't post in the Property Prices chat cos I'm too new, but what was the verdict? What do people think is really going to happen by the end of the year?
Thanks for your support and opinions

Nobody knows what's going to happen by the end of the year. But should you care? You don't plan on selling next year. If you buy, and your income is solid, just live in it.

There will be a restriction on how deep you can place your virus chamber based on the depth of the stratum for the tunnel.
