    Live.

Try and do at least 1 major thing every year. Whether that be an OS trip, a new car, or another IP, the choice is yours. Further through life your choices change, as does your wealth position, which then allows MORE choices. What a dilemma.

They're still making appearances on Shannons semi-regularly fetching $45-53k a pop. Prices for GT-R's (even the unloved R33's) have gone up a fair bit in the past year. Might need to find some time and get my R33 back on the road....some day.

How many hours a week do I work to pay for the lease.

Was recently discussing this and personally planning on keeping total vehicle purchase prices to 2.5% of net wealth

I think a Datsun 180B SSS could be obtainable for the same sort of money (plus or minus $50)...

Wife and I are just starting our investment journey and we just bought two brand new cars, our plan is a 10 - 15 year plan and my current car is 6 years old, we figured get brand newies and we don't have to worry about fixing them while the plan forges on.

She got a Mazda CX5 GT diesel (twin turbo thing, it's nice, drives like a petrol).

Being that she has a sensible car, this opened up the floor for me to be a complete idiot and i bought a Mazda MX5 GT (Pick it up in about 3 weeks), I will be one happy little idiot :).

We have litteraly nothing to spend money on for the next 10 to 15 years now other than general expenses. It makes it really easy to commit to specific payments and smashing down the owings.

You gotta live your life and have some fun along the way and for me (being a car nut), nothing will do that for me more than a shiny new car :).

Location: Sydney....... 86 vs MX5 track day in the future perhaps ;)

YUM!!!!! one of my faves was the original Audi quattro monsters from the 80's, followed by the RS4 (old school) and now the RS3 and S1 :).

We traded our cars so there was a bit of playing with the number on paper but we got 14K for my wife's car, it was worth around 9 and we got 20 for mine it was worth around 16 so we got around 10% discount on our total purchase price along with the usual suspects thrown in (Tints, Mats, Boot liners)

We did up a 180SSS back in the early 90's, dropped the 2L in it and took the thing down to bare metal to fish oil it and rust proof it.

Great looking car when we finished but it took a number of months :).

I get a new car through work every 3-4 years, so that has me sorted. The gumtree add at the top of the screen listing boats for sale tells me I may spend a little too much time searching for them, wonder if work would throw in a boat in the deal:p

Yeah do it! Just get work to get one but make sure the paperwork says "car" not "boat" no one reads the paperwork, just sign away! :D
