This article Australian Property Predictions For 2016 (which features PropertyChat's @Jacque ) states :

The market is tipped to “take a breather” in 2016 ...
This (slow down in domestic property investing) will allow first home buyers to come back to the market.”

So, if you're on the look out for your first home, now is the time to start educating yourself and start haggling.

I'm trying not to Xenia, but I have looked at two in the last week and am about to look at another one because units here are ripe for the picking. I like the game, and I like to haggle and feel like I've got a bargain, or else I'm not interested in playing. We will see.

    Here!
I've seen people who sat by the sidelines since 2008 and said there would be a massive collapse. And through 2013-2015 grumbled non-stop. Now they're rubbing their hands with glee at the idea of buying for massively reduced prices in 2016. Yeah...right.

A small drop. Some haggling. But don't expect some monster discounts.

Yes it will ease, but keep your expectations in check!

For me, I hope to buy 2 more this year with potential to add value (reno/extra room/Gf). I don't think there will be massive drop in Sydney but will be ready if it does happen.
