Buyer might loose deposit

    I think most lawyers will correspond directly to your legal representation if you have it rather than directly with you.

    Also, could just mean they have read your correspondence yet or are yet to respond to it. I would invest too much time analysing it.

    we wanted to move on quickly . Let them out of the contract and have resold at a higher price , though not settled as of yet .

    I can't blame you for that decision at all. Going down the court path would have been long and arduous (and expensive). It's good that it's worked out in your favour.

    Did you end up still having to pay the agent's selling fee though?

    Did you keep their deposit?

    Also, is there any recourse to put a mark against their credit file, or is that not possible because youre a not a creditor?

    To keep the deposit , we would have had to go to the supreme court and we were told that could take 1-2 years , during that time we couldn't have sold .

    They paid some , but not full deposit to get out of contract .

    Seems ridiculous that you couldn't sell in that time.

    Seems being a Lawyer he was trolling you using the system and its flaws... sigh.

    Glad you sold for a better price and best of luck with settlement!
